Put the Bugle on your home screen
The Bugle is new every morning, not once a week. Put it on your home screen and it sits with your other apps, one tap away. It is free, there is no app store, nothing to download, no account, and no password.
iPhone or iPad
Do this in Safari. If you got here by tapping a link inside the Facebook app, that is Facebook's own browser and it cannot add anything to your home screen. Open Safari yourself and type barrhavenbugle.ca.
- Open barrhavenbugle.ca in Safari.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom, the square with an arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down the list. Tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add, top right.
Android
- Open barrhavenbugle.ca in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots at the top right.
- Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.
- Tap Install.
What you get
- Opens full screen, with no browser bar in the way.
- Today's Barrhaven news, the events calendar, and the cartoon, refreshed every morning.
- Pages you have already opened still work if you lose signal.
- Nothing to pay, ever. Nothing to sign in to.
Get a nudge each morning
The Bugle changes every day: a new cartoon, a new featured local business, and the day's Barrhaven news, all up by mid morning. Turn this on and your phone will tell you once a day when the new one is ready.
One notification a morning. Never more than that. Turn it off in one tap, right here, any time.
On an iPhone this only works once the Bugle is on your home screen, so do the steps above first, then open the Bugle from its icon and come back to this page.
Getting rid of it
Press and hold the icon, then delete it, the same as any other app. Nothing is left behind on your phone.
