Ottawa extends parking ticket payment deadlines starting July 28

The City of Ottawa says parking tickets issued on or after Tuesday, July 28, 2026 will follow new timelines: the early-payment period grows from 7 to 15 days, the window to pay the set fine grows from 30 to 45 days, and the default point moves from 61 to 76 days after issuance, when licence-plate renewal may be denied until outstanding fees are paid. Tickets will also be yellow instead of white. The City says tickets issued before July 28 keep the current rules, and payments can still be made online, by mail or in person.
