The City of Ottawa is opening temporary household hazardous waste and electronic waste drop-off sites for residents cleaning up after the July 1 extreme weather event. Two sites — the Mary Pitt Centre parking lot at 100 Constellation Drive, and Lakeview Public School at 35 Corkstown Road — are open 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday July 11, Monday July 13, Tuesday July 14 and Wednesday July 15. E-waste can also be dropped off free at Trail Road Facility Landfill or at the July 11 e-waste event at Tony Graham Recreation Complex; the next regular household hazardous waste event is July 25 at Kanata Research Park. The City says residents should not mix hazardous products together and should use the Waste Explorer or storm-recovery page for disposal details.
