City storm-support drop-ins include Nepean Sportsplex on Tuesday

The City of Ottawa is running drop-in community information sessions for residents affected by the July 1 extreme weather event, putting City staff, community partners and support services in one room. Booths cover waste disposal, health and safety when cleaning a flooded home, building codes and permits, how to report basement flooding or damaged infrastructure, support programs, and insurance processing; the Canadian Red Cross is among the partners attending. The closest session for Barrhaven and South Nepean is Tuesday, July 14 at the Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Avenue, from 4 to 8 pm. Other sessions run Sunday, July 12 at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive, 1 to 5 pm; Monday, July 13 at the John G. Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive, 4 to 8 pm; and Tuesday, July 14 at Maki House, 19 Leeming Drive, 11 am to 3 pm. The City's Community Information Hubs conclude after their final day of operation on Sunday, July 12.
