Barrhaven businesses using Route 75 have an Aug. 10 to 18 detour to note

The signal

The City of Ottawa says Scott Street will close between Bayview Station Road and Parkdale Avenue from 7 a.m. August 10 to 6 p.m. August 18 for watermain repairs. OC Transpo says Routes 12, 13, 57, 61 and 75 may experience delays during the detour. The temporary stop closures are downtown, not in Barrhaven.

The opportunity

The useful move is advance travel information. An operator with staff or customers who use Route 75 can point them to the published detour window and the live OC Transpo alert without promising a travel-time outcome.

Why

The City and OC Transpo publish a specific start and end window, which lets a business give transit-using staff a timely route-check reminder.

The closure is at the downtown end of the route. The City does not say a Barrhaven street or stop is closed, so the accurate message is possible delay, not a local-stop closure.
