The Barrhaven BugleHome / Business / Barrhaven Town Centre consultation…
Opportunity
The signal
The City of Ottawa has opened consultation on the planned Barrhaven Civic Centre and Ottawa Public Library branch at 180 Riocan Avenue in Barrhaven Town Centre. The City lists a kickoff drop-in on August 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Minto Recreation Complex, and says its online survey is open until August 31. The concepts are preliminary.

The opportunity
The useful signal is a defined public-input window for a planned Town Centre project. Businesses can review the City’s preliminary material and offer specific access, wayfinding or customer-service observations through the City’s process.
Why
The City names the site, the in-person session and the survey close date, so interested operators can use the official consultation rather than relying on informal summaries.
The project is still at the preliminary-concept stage. That is the appropriate time to distinguish a request or question from a claim that a final design or construction schedule exists.
This card reports the City’s consultation process only. It does not project construction timing, tenancy, customer counts or commercial effects.
